Pimentel - Every town along the northern coast of Peru is full of men who rise long before sunrise and point their boats into the surf to fish. These men ply the waves in small rafts or reed canoes much like their ancestors have for centuries. With a single oar they cast nets and reel them in followed by seagulls eager to scoop up the entrails of the fish cast behind the boats as the men clean their catch. Most return to shore by noon to send their catch to the market for sale. They then sit down for their lunch, usually a ceviche, made of fish, of course.
