Several hundred students and faculty of the University of Piura packed the Piura stadium and kicked their Olympics off with a style that would put a SEC school to shame. Native dancers, frantic drumers, screaming chants, giant banners - there was enough energy in the room to power the city for a week and then they went to the big party afterward.
