– The
modern world in Peru is almost impossible to seperate from it's long past.
Traditions centuries old still hold a strong sway. Long before the Spanish,
long before the Incas, indians made boats here from reeds and braved the
Pacific Ocean. They still use them today. One curious Norwegian was so
impressed with these strong boats he built one, named it Kon Tiki, and
sailed across that ocean in 1947. Thor
Heyerdahl changed the way the world thought about migration across
the pacific - but it was old news to the Peruvians. |
