Colan – Peru has an astounding facility for surprising the unwary with curious and somehow disturbing sights. The best example I have ever captured on film is this horse standing in the surf on the beach in Colan in Northern Peru. It was quite alone and the waters were rising with each wave. There was absolutely no way for me to tell if it was in danger or not. I was unable to return until evening when the post was completely submerged and the fate of the animal a mystery.
