– Since humans have inhabited Peru, the frigid waters of the Humboldt Current have brough fish to the shores to feed them. Fishermen still use methods of reaping the bounty of these waters discovered by their ancestors centuries ago. Reed boats, simple rafts and even plain trawl lines from shore like this are common sights any morning on beaches up and down the coast. In northern Peru you have to be careful of the stingrays when you sift through the nets. Here a fisherman pulls off the stinger of the fish before going back to look for other fish from the catch . |
