Chiclayo
– On
July 14, about 3,000 people marched through the streets of Chiclayo as
part of a nation-wide strike called to protest the government. Despite
widespread disapproval of the current government, the strike was a disappointment
for organizers. But, because of the possibility of violence erupting,
the entire country held its breath for the day .
