Chiclayo – Last year, the continent-wide soccer tournament, the Copa America, was hosted by Peru. For a month, the entire country was engulfed by soccer fever with fans besieging hotels, lines at stadiums and hundreds of street merchants trying to make a quick buck. Although Brazil eventually took the cup, by far, the most energetic fans on hand in Chiclayo were, by far, the Mexicans. They were loud, proud and having a good time. Their sections of the stadium featured an abundance of war drums, face paint and giant tri-color flags.
